COVID-19 Update


UPDATE - 1ST JULY 2020

Our number one priority and commitment has always been the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff. Therefore, to ensure a COVID-Safe environment, entering the Club will be a little different.


ACCESS TO CLUB

Access to Hornsby RSL Club is via both the front and rear foyers. Members and guests will be required to enter and exit separately, we ask that when entering the Club you keep to the left and when leaving the Club, again please keep to your left. We will have things clearly marked for you so please observe the signs and ensure you keep 1.5m distance at all times.

Staff will be available to direct patrons to a dining outlet to help disperse the crowd, reduce co-mingling in any areas, and encourage everyone to maintain a safe 1.5m distance from each other.


CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Hornsby RSL Club members will be required to present their membership card upon entry; second form of ID may also be required. Guests will also need to present a form of ID upon enterting the Club.

As a condition of entry members and guests will be required to sign in and out of the Club. Following NSW Government regulations, we are required to record the names and contact details of all members, guests, staff, contractors and any other person that enters the club, and to retain this information for 28 days for contact tracing purposes. For the avoidance of doubt, the details of any minors are not required to be recorded.

For your safety we will screen all patrons and temperature check as required. Patrons will be asked if they are feeling unwell and those displaying symptoms will not be able to enter the venue. We will also be requesting that all patrons utilise the hand sanitisers available. 

From 1st July, our facilities will be open to both Members and guests, and guests will no longer require to be signed in by a Member.


COVID SAFE MARSHALS

Highly visible CovidSAFE Marshals will be walking around our venue tasked with ensuring compliance of social distancing rules, answering questions and promoting good personal hygiene practices. Please follow our CovidSAFE Marshal’s instructions at all times as refusal to do so will result in being asked to leave the club premises.


SAFETY AND HYGIENE

Additional cleaning and sanitising procedures will be in place in all areas of the Club, including in back of house areas that are utilised by staff. Hand sanitiser dispensers are available throughout the Club and we encourage all patrons to regularly utilise these for safety and comfort. Additionally, we encourage patrons to regularly wash their hands, in particular before and after eating, and after handling cash or visiting the bathroom. Frequently touched surfaces such as button panels, handrails and bathrooms will be a focus of these additional procedures. We ask that all patrons please follow the recommendations and procedure signage placed around the Club to ensure the safety of all.

  • - The Courtyard Dessert Bar and Café: 11:30am – 3:00pm | 5:00pm – late (every day – no bookings available)
  • - Showroom Restaurant:  Lunch 12:00pm – 2:30pm | Dinner 5:30pm – 9:00pm (Sunday to Wednesday), 12:00pm – 2:30pm | Dinner 5:30pm – 9:30pm (Thursday to Saturday) (limited bookings available through The Fork)
  • - Brew Bar & Lounge: 10:00am – late (every day - no bookings available)
  • - Sports Bar & Lounge: 5:00pm – Managers discretion. (Thursday to Saturday only, no bookings available). Please note that the Snooker Room, Table Tennis Room and playing of darts and pool tables will not be permitted until our Club is operating at or near regular capacity and social distancing measures/cleaning and sanitising requirements from the Government are eased.

  • Please note all patrons must be seated while consuming alcohol.

Gaming

All gaming lounges will be open. Strict social distancing measures will be in place. 


Membership 

All active Memberships at the time of closing will be extended for 3 months to compensate for the period of time the Club was closed for.


Hornsby Rewards 

All Hornsby Rewards tiers were frozen at the time the Club was closed. There will be no tier demotions conducted until such time that the Club is running at or near capacity, however tier promotions will recommence from July 2020.


Member Promotions

To ensure fair access to promotions for all Members, there will be no weekly promotions or venue wide promotions run until our Club is operating at or near regular capacity and social distancing measures have been eased.



Entertainment

The existing regulations and social distancing measures do not support the hosting of shows at the current time.


Birthday Offers

For Members whose birthday month occurs during the shutdown period, we will be adding a $20 Members Birthday Allowance to your membership card for you to use until 10th September 2020. Simply swipe your card at our food and beverage outlets and ask to pay with your Members Allowance to redeem. Valid for all birthday in April, May, June and July. No change given.


Bingo and Raffles

Bingo has recommenced on Tuesdays and Thursday at 10.15am only. As restrictions are reduced further, we will continue to slowly bring back other sessions and raffle/trivia.. We will notify Members via our website and social media pages when this occurs.


Courtesy Bus

As a result of the difficulty in managing social distancing requirements, courtesy buses at Hornsby RSL Club will not be operating at this stage.


Functions and Events

Due to the limits on group booking numbers and reduced room capacities to help manage social distancing requirements, the booking of Functions and Meetings is currently unavailable. For customers with pre-existing bookings, please contact our Events Team on 9485 3222 or email events@hornsbyrsl.com.au



FAQs

  • Do we need to book in advance to attend the Club or dine at food outlets?
    Due to current patron limits advance bookings are very limited and only available in the Courtyard and Showroom restaurants. Brew Bar & Lounge; Grounded Café and Level One Lounge will be walk-in only with no advance bookings available.

    Are gaming lounges open?
    Yes. All gaming lounges will be open. Strict social distancing measures will be in place. 

    Do family members need to socially distance inside the Club?
    Members of the same household are not required to socially distance. However, family members should observe distancing standards where they are not in the same household. Seating will be arranged so that tables are distanced at 1.5 metres, to give all members the opportunity to socially distance. Members of the same household may wish to bring seating closer together. If members are not from the same household, our Club CovidSAFE Marshals will advise members to observe distancing of 1.5 metres between each other.

    Is a member required to consume food to visit the club and use its facilities?
    No. Patronage will not be predicated on the consumption of food.

    Is there a limit for how long you can stay in the club at any one time?
    No. You can stay as long as you like.

    Can alcohol be purchased without a meal/food?
    Yes. NSW Health have confirmed that the purchase and consumption of alcohol will not be ancillary to the purchase and consumption of food.

    Are there any changes to parking?
    Our car park facilities continue to be accessible for members attending the Club.

    What payment options will be available in the Club?
    In line with the heightened medical guidelines we encourage members to utilise our Tap and Go contactless electronic payment method, however cash is still accepted. Our ATM facilities will be available and frequently sanitised.

    How long will the current restrictions apply?
    The NSW Government has not advised how long these conditions will be required; however, they will be reviewed regularly in line with the broader COVID-19 situation and case numbers.

Takeaway Offering

We are happy to announce that we are working on a takeaway menu that will be available mid June. Ordering will be available through our website, and will initially include favourite items from The Courtyard and our Kekou Noodle and Dumpling Bar, with wood fired pizzas from Level One to be added shortly after.


The Attic

Our brand new area, a boutique ten pin bowling and arcade bar, will be opening soon at the Club! Whilst we are working towards being operational for the July school holidays, this will be dependent on Government restrictions around the opening of amusement centres. We will keep everyone updated as we receive more information on this.
